The clothing brand known as Visual Artistic Garments AKA VA-G had an eventful evening on the 19th of November, why, because they collaborated with G-SHOCK! Which is a major achievement for any UK brand. On the night they also bought down musicians such as CherriV, Wretch 32, Random impulse, FemFel , Selah and Rebler.

THE GARMENTS
The thing I like about the VA-G brand is it’s flexibility, because it’s not quite street wear and they’re not quite high street a they are able to adapt their style to suit certain situations. This collaboration made emphasis on their street wear side, with all the garments being primarily printed. My favourite piece in the collection is the red crew neck sweat shirt. You can purchase these exclusive garments from http://www.va-gstore.com/
G-SHOCK EAST
The evening began quite slowly with a whole host of individuals in PR, Music, bloggers, DJ’s, buyers and general brick lane free loaders there however, after an hour it was as if a damn broke and people flooded into the small space.
The store itself was beautifully designed, the exposed brick work and concrete blocks gave the store a raw industrial quality. The Art work designed by Alan, Vidal (designers of VA-G) and photographer Henery Hudani bought the two brands together to create a very stylised and thoughtful display.

One thing I’ll say is that the sound equipment was utterly terrible, who was in charge of this! This seriously ruined the flow of FemFel and Lily McKenzie. As a result they had to perform Shakespeare style. Perhaps the malfunctioning equipment was a blessing in disguise as the audience was treated to an acoustic rendition of ‘Running’. One person who would have torn down the house without, a microphone would have been CherriV, her cover of Drake’s ‘Over’ was very good especially as sung rap songs usually suck ASS. CherriV’s smooth powerful voice stole the show in my eyes. However, i didn’t like her funky house song, maybe I’m biased but isn’t funky house music s***?

‘Wretch 32’ performed he’s new single Traktor, in my opinion wretch is the UK’s answer to Talib Quali, youtube comment:
“WOW! Wretch you deserve to be rich for sure, no jokes. Your metaphors are the best I’ve ever heard,?I’m a huge fan already….keep going fam. SPEECHLESS.”
Wretch had everyone singing along to he’s song ‘be cool’ I would love to see wretch blow.

Another artist who I thought had great potential is Random Impulse, he’s like UK version of NERD but more Metal. Selah and Rebler also did their thing.

All in all the event was a success it had something for everyone, music, free drinks: D, and sick garments. I really like how G-Shock is reaching out to the UK underground scene. Let’s hope we see a G-shock X VA-G watch sooner rather than later. Videos of the event will be featured soon so keep coming back!
*EXCLUSIVE NEWS* VA-G will be included in the next London Fashion Week.
