True Tiger is one of the UK’s biggest street music label’s consisting of writers, producers and DJ’s. They release everything from UK Garage, Grime, Dubstep to Hip Hop and House, they have produced for the likes of Tinie Tempah, Professor green and Kelly Rowland. Yesterday was the launch party for the “In the Air” single release.
On the night Miklill Pane, Ed Sheeran, The Newham Generals and Jammer all performed. The music was a nice mixture of dub step and grime and Hip hop. Hard hitting Base lines rattled your diaphragm so hard that it felt as though it was 2001 in jammers basement. Mikil Pane a hipster version of the streets performed the singles “The Return of Mr Pane”, “you don’t know me” and “summer in the city” I’ve seen him perform live a few times now and the clever word play and image make him an all round artist.
Ed Sheeran performed a remixed version of ‘The A Team’ which didn’t offend the ear however, I still prefer the loneliness of the original beat.
For me D Double E and Footsie destroyed the event. All D Double E had to say was Bluku Blaku and girls in the crowd were having seizures, ok, so no one had a seizures but the crowd went Bonkers! ‘Street fighter’ caused a mosh pit to spontaneously appear in the middle of the dance floor, it seemed as though people came specifically for the Newham Generals.
The best description from the night was from @jeffflyprints:
“D double had every single person in that placed fully gassed including the bouncers loool”
What made this event great was the crowd, a mixture of signed and unsigned artist, some hard core grime and dubstep fans and bloggers/press. If the crowd response is anything to go by then this single is going to be a success.
