ORIGIN LONDON CLOTHING NEW COLLECTION

Check out Origin London’s new collection.“Founded by 17-year old Gabriel Noble, Origin London is an independent clothing company that will release four limited edition t-shirts with UK art collectives TIMC (This Is My Costume) and Puck during summer 2011.”

One thing I’ve noticed is that 3/4 T-shirts have animal references. Now was this a concious choice or was it just meaningless sh*t a middle class cool kid cooked up in his bedroom. On face value the rat,the pigeon and the pig are all symbols of filth, dirt and disease however, if you look deeper you realise that all these animals live is harsh environments and must do what they can to survive.
My guess is that Gaberial has put a spot light on these animals to illustrate gritty side of London. Cheesy as this may sound I believe that this collection says “be proud of who you are” we’re all products of our environment and must do what we can to survive.

FLYPRINTS NOTES
All these T-shirts’ were printed using water based ink to give a soft finish. I really like the fit of the Tshirt too, not too big not too small. Origin London is holding an exhibition at the Orange Dot Gallery from the 30th of July to the 19th of August. Check it out! For more info visit: http://originlondon.com/
