Kenema makes contemporary African clothing mainstream whilst simultaneously helping to improve the human condition. They represent the modern fashion designer, the modern entrepreneur and the modern woman.”

This is a preview of Kenema  forth collection “The Mende Collection”. Modelled by Flyprints’ very own Nyla Mirza and Ashade Cole. Tamu has created some really nice pieces which are due to be released in spring.

Whilst at the photo shoot  I met  Sheridan Wynter the owner of  The new blue studio http://www.thenewbluestudio.com/,  he has some good prices so check him out. I also met Matteo Scaglione for the first time, he’s the web developer for FLYPRINTS and he also runs http://bestyouneverhad.com/. I met Wayne Louis and Junior Roberts the photographers  http://jrfotography.photoshelter.com/portfolio and last but not least I met Alize (stylist), Annette Beauvoir (Make up artist) and Wanita Bardouille.

I’ve always liked Kenema  (even though i’m a straight man) and unsurprisingly I really like their new pieces. One thing I noticed was that the garments were a lot more sophisticated. The use of African material was justified and not just African for the sake of it. I can really see these pieces stocked in major outlets. All they need  to do now is to create a Mens collection and I’ll be a walking billboard.
