01.DARK FANTASY

The track begins with an introduction from Nicki Minaj , who does her weird British accent, being a Brit myself i can see right through her attempt. However, the concept is excellent, cleverly painting a picture with WORDS.  Finally! Kanye  does an  a Amy Winehouse and goes Back to rap (yay! cleaver word play, I should be a rapper).This is  Hip hop  beautifully  executed.  8/10

02.GORGEOUS (FT KID KUDI & RAEKWON)

The Vocals from Kid Kudi coupled with the rift from the electric guitar make this track is infectious. “is Hip Hop just a euthenism for a new religion, the soul music for the slaves that the youth is missing?” hmmm this is why illuminati and devil worshiping rumours are circulating Kanye!  The flow is F’in hard! Kanye has seriously stepped up in the lyric’s and flow department. The Legend that is  Raekwon fulfils Kanye’s and every young rappers dream, that is to rap with Raekwon. 9/10

03.POWER (FT DWELE)

So much controvosy surrounds the video to this song, but like the video this song is ORIGINAL. I dont care what any hardcore King Krimson fan says i think kanye sampled the song (21st century schitzoid man) excellently. COMMENT FROM YOUTUBE (21st century schitzoid man) ” I Think it’s a blessing when hiphop songs sample classics like these. Brings a whole new demographic to em”. 6/10

04.ALL OF THE LIGHTS (INTERLUDE)

The  classical interlude provides a welcomed break allowing  full appreciation of the tracks to come. 7/10

05.ALL OF THE LIGHTS (FT RIHANNA)

This is one of those tracks which doesn’t ring  my bells but, I know a lot of other people will like it.what you think? 6/10

06.MONSTER (FT RICK ROSS, JAY Z, NICKI MINAJ, BON IVER)

Good friday has made it’s way to the final cut. I’m not a huge fan of this song the production isint as strong as the previous tracks and what was the point of Rick Ross here ? Jay Z who usually murders features didn’t amaze me here either. For me  Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver stole the show. Bon Iver closes the track with  smooth and souldful vocals, he should have been featured more heavily on the entire track. 5/10

07.SO APPALLED (FT RZA, JAY Z, PUSHA T, SWIZZ BEATZ & CYHI THE PRYNCE)

Damn(american accent)  Kanye why do you have so many featured artist. For me Tyga’s Version “i’m so raw” sh*ts on this song, sorry. Jayz produces the best line however, “what the f  am i sayin’ not only am i fly i’m f’in not plane-in.” 4/10

08.DEVIL IN A DRESS (FT RICK ROSS)

Slow rythmic drums, the vocal sample in the background gently messages you to the point  where, it makes you wanna roll up a big fat one and…… chill with your boys. This beat is perfectly suited to Kanye’s flow. The switch up in the beat keeps it interesting and the Teflon don is a welcome addition .  8/10

09.RUNAWAY(FT PUSHA T)

A relic of 808 and Heart break, this song successfully portrays  pain, self depreciation and self pity. The rawness of the beat stands out. I’m not sure about the use of Auto tune at the end though. Apparently he cried when he was doing that bit. 6/10

10.HELL OF A LIFE

THREE OUT OF TEN, i think this is one song you have warm up to. but since this is first listen . 3/10


11.BLAME GAME (FT JOHN LEGEND)

John legend does what he does best in this track. The creative use of vocal manipulation to depict the internal conflict in Kanye’s head is very creative.Kanye isin’t the best vocalist, but strangely it makes the track more personal, it’s as if Kanye’s singing to himself  and we’re  to spying on him p.s was that Chris Rock?!?  sadness ozzez out of this song and again Kanye’s Lyrical skills are really showcased . 8/10

12.LOST IN THE WORLD (FT BON IVER)

This track has the uplifting quality that a cold play song has. Almost spritual, Kanye ends the album with a rap verse which is very appropriate for the beat. The band which is Bon Iver has slyly outshone all the other features on this album. 9/10

CONCLUSION

This album is Kanye’s Stillmatic. Not many artist are able to surpass this initial masterpieces however, Kanye has produced something which is dare I say…. better than college drop out?!! If not then this has come the closest . With that said a few songs didn’t come up to par. Like Hell off a life, So appalled and Monster but all in all he’s produced a classic. This is what happens when college drop out and 808  have a baby.
