The Print club bringing together a mixture of established and emerging illustrators for BLISTERS BLACKOUT a winter feast of hand pulled, screen printed posters.

This year they will be  are asking every one to add a ‘glow in the dark’ element to their poster design. We will be ‘Blacking Out’ the venue at points during the opening night so your posters can really GLOW!

THE BRIEF
The brief is open, to allow artists to develop their own work within the format of a B2 screen-printed poster. Each design will be printed as an edition of 40, produced by the artist.
Poster size: B2 (500 x 700mm)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Your posters will be viewed at the show and on folk’s walls mostly in daylight so your poster design needs to work well in both daylight and the dark.

Remember this is a poster not just an illustration that you place onto B2 size paper.

All posters designs are to be new work, not previously exhibited or seen by the public.

The edition MUST be screenprinted.

Show Dates
3rd December Opening Night
4th and 5th December open during the day

Prices
All prints are sold at £40 (inc vat)

Each poster design will be printed as an edition of 40, produced by the artist, with 4 artists proofs that you will keep, and 4 printers proofs for Print Club and G F Smith archives.

There will be 40 % commission on prints sold,
Any prints not sold during the show will be sold on our online shop after the exhibition.

Paper:
GFSmith are supplying the paper free of charge for our show. You will be able to choose from a colourplan range, please do email us if you want to use anything other than black or white and we will supply you with colour options.

Inks
We will advise at a later date which supplier to use for the ‘glow in the dark’ ink.

Venue:
Down a small back ally in Dalston lies a magical warehouse that has housed our renowned ‘Blisters’ poster shows, and is again this years venue for Blackout Blisters. Previous Blisters shows have attracted 1400 visitors with sales of over 800 prints on the opening night!

Closing date for submissions: 30th September

After the process of selection, successful artists will be contacted by mid October.
We will contact you directly should yours be picked with deadlines for printing and further information on our commission and how the show works.

Screen Printing
If you need a place to print, Print Club has a member’s screenprinting studio. If you are unable to print your poster yourself please let us know and we can put you in touch with someone that can. (There will be a cost involved in this.)
