Yesterday saw the grand launch of Y’OH, designed by Kara Messina and I can honestly say that I was very impressed by the concept and execution of her ideas. Aside from the African influence, I really like the 90′s feel to her collection which for me a breath of fresh air, arn’t we tired of this 80′s vibe (Varsity Jackets)???
like I said in a previous post ”ALUMNI OF STREET WEAR” I feel our generation has “grown up” and now expects a higher level of sophistication in what we wear e.g more shirts, jackets and generally more cut and sew peices. Y’OH offers that level of sophistication whilst staying accessible to the regular person. Impressively Kara has managed to combine African print with street wear without making it look gimmicky and for that we give her 5/5.
